What should you look for, when starting your new project.

This is the first of a aside article series, sharing with you how I think when I work on the Metrofields and my other blog focused on the food world: Pestonito.

Until some weeks ago my Substack account was left dormant. I had created it a couple of years ago, the reason exactly I don’t really remember. I think maybe, I saw how easy it was to publish, and took a shot at it. Maybe I was feeling a little blue and lonely, and Substack gave me an outlet to easily share my thoughts. The thing here is that for a long time I let it go, blogging was just a unattainable dream.

But something completely changed my mentality during the last month of 2022. Life I suppose. In December 2022 life tought me one of the hardest lessons I have had to learn up to now. (More on that on a future post). This sparked an insatiable hunger inside of me, a fire that will push me to adventure, not stopping until getting what I truly wanted. So, I took back what was supposed to be mine, I want to write and share adventures, not in party conversations but as a full time job, as my life’s work.

I consider myself a complete amateur in this, but it does not matter, by doing I will learn. I may sound naïve, but my main asset now is just commitment. Simple as that. I am using every single technique I know to grow my social media.

-Commenting and interacting with other big accounts

- Posting every day

-Even giveaways

And you know what its working not bad at all, almost 500 followers in less than 2 weeks.

On Substack I am posting more than three times a week, every time trying to better understand who reads me. Apparently, I have a strong feminine audience! That doesn’t surprise me though, its logic women are better readers than men. After some insights I got, topics like love, romanticizing life, profound thoughts and dreams are what my readers are more attracted to. Well at least this is all I’ve go for now; from the little intel I have. But I can feel this upwards tendence, I can feel something is growing. And it just makes me so excited for the future possible projects I can create for you. I think this is the first sweet spot anyone building her, or his own project should first look for. This personal feeling, that you are really building something, and it is truly growing. Just like when you are growing a plant, and for the first weeks no signs appear at all, but you just keep on watering that soil, until one day, a tiny green leaf sprouts out. Of course, it is nothing compared to a full-grown tree, It hasn’t even bloomed yet, but at least in that moment you know all you have to do is take care of the plant, because it is already alive! Sooner or later, it will be an immense beautiful tree and will give you so much fruit you wont even know what to do with it.

So please persevere, even with no sign of sprout, remember you are probably still in the soil watering phase, and pay close attention, for when the green sprout appears you must take the best care of it and of course celebrate ! A big tree is on its way.
